Day 100

One down and 7 more to go or 3 more to go if you look at it as 2 different things being the book work part of med school and then rotations.  I like to think only 3 more until 3rd year gets here.  Either way I am pleased with this semester and ready for some break time.

Day 99

We had 2 lectures and then just more time to study for the exam.  not alot going on. I played some video games for a break.  now i am up and making sure I have this down.

Day 98

Last few days I am 36 hours from the end of this semester and I am truly looking forward to it being done.  Took my last cardio quiz today and then studied the remainder of the evening.  Now its time to sleep

Day 96 and 97

I was out of town all weekend at a wedding and since my Macbook was stolen I didn't have a computer with a web cam to do my blog so I am just doubling up today for both of them.  Today we had Sim Lab which was really pretty cool to do things and give drugs and watch what happens to the patient with no real life consequences.

Day 95

Hardly anyone was in class this morning. nice day of getting things done and relaxing.

Day 94

Wow that test was brutal.  Lowest average for the class this semester.  and then the practical on top.  rugged day.  Sorry for the late post internet was down last night!

Day 93

Clin med is over and gone!  now it was just cardio to study and study I did.  I still have more to do but that is life and I better get to sleep so I can wake up and get things going in the morning.

Its monday again with things to do and clin med finals to study for. also class elections and such were today its been a crazy weekend and this week doesn't slow down at all then one more week and the semester is through.

Today was a lot of not fun! My house was broken into so forgive me for not really caring about school.

class was not super exciting today but the rest of the day was pretty sweet!

Today was nice.  We had and EKG lab in the morning and then just a few hours of class after lunch which was nice.  then I got down to some much needed studying.

More Cardio, its the only class I have so that really is all I get.

short day of 4 lectures about cardio system.  I forgot that one of the lectures was a histology lecture.  This next little bit is going to require me to focus and make things happen! Ohh and Happy Thanks Giving

Day 85

Well our first test for Cardio is over or the Pulmonary test that is.  Always nice to have one down.  after the exam they had the brilliant idea to have 3 hours of lecture.   After that was anatomy lab which was pretty smooth because it was the heart.  so we got to dissect out the heart and then into the atria and ventricles.  It was one of the coolest labs for dissection in my opinion.

Day 84

We had a Geri lecture in the morning and then informatics at 10 then no class and some time to study.  I made some sweet shorts out of left over material which was a nice distraction.  now I need sleep so I can take an exam in the morning.

Day 83

Well today the lecture was actually on acid base balance in respiration sorry they are all blending together!  Anyway I saw HP7 and it was great but now its back to school and the grind.  you may even get a bonus edition after the clinc tomorrow.  for now I sleep.

Day 82

More Cardio lectures and an MLM, then I visited a geri and studied the night away.  wow my life is exciting!  PS sorry if the lighting is bad but I do have a tie on so that has to count for something.

Day 81

Its nice to have only one class but I hope that doesn't make me lazy and that I get behind on it!  class was OK and still glad that neuro is over!

Day 80

Wow time is flying and today I did my last OMM competency for the semester!  Other than that nothing else really great to report just more class and such.

Day 79

well Neuro is over and we wasted no time getting into cardio pulm.  My hair is looking awesome in this one!  You are all welcome.  Ohh and sorry again (this is for my sister) for the tiredness of this post!

Day 78

No more Neuro lectures and now no more neuro after our exam on monday morning.  2MLM's today that were pretty good to review for the test and a quiz at the end of the first one!

Day 77

Short with class about sleep at 8AM is never a good idea but not to bad.  After an MLM and then done for the day at school.  Took a needed nap to try to catch up on sleep a little and then studying.  Not a bad night I will see how that translates to the quiz I have tomorrow.

Day 76

Today was really long cause we were in class forever.  we had an mlm till noon and then didn't get a lunch hour because of grand rounds presentations and then 3 hours of lecture from a professor that was monotone and semi boring.

Day 75

Well I tried to not be tired when I did this but tonight I am tired.  I had a couple quizzes tonight that I did online and then had to prep for another one that will be in class tomorrow.  so if I seem tired I am! Enjoy

Day 74

the second Neuro test is in the books!  Me and neuro are not super tight friends but I am coming to understand it better.  later in the afternoon we had a scare with a classmate having a seizure!

OMM exam and then an MLM so not a long day of class but time to get prepped for our second neuro test this weekend.  Ohh what fun that will be!

day 72

Today was nice.  Short class and a quiz that I felt like I knew stuff on and then that was all folks just study for an OMM exam in the morning.

Day 71

A super long day with 6 hours of class.  that is way to long but ohh well that is life.  after that I took a nap studied hung with a friend of mine and even may have made a few pairs of fleece pants!

Day 70

last OMM class of the semester with the test on friday!  A test over one lecture is a little ridiculous but what ever!

Day 69

So I almost forgot about this tonight!  the weekend was fun with the powderpuff game and I spent halloween in the cadaver lab studying the brain.  Fitting I thought for halloween.  

Day 68

Today was the big powder puff game.  Our class didn't win the game but that is OK our cheer leaders took it to the house.  It was a lot of fun and a really nice change of pace.

Today was pretty nice but I need to kick it up a notch with studying so that I can understand things and make a good grade.

A real nice short day of class but we had some assignments to do that are garbage for a grand rounds presentation.  then I went for a run and then studied a bit before grabbing some grub with some classmates and then going over the steps for my OSCE.

Day 64

So I didn't say they day but you can see it on the post.  Neuro test 1 is complete and just waiting to see scores.  today was nice to not think about school much after it was over I played some basketball and hung out with some people from class.  good times.

Day 63

Really easy day with a test and then studying.  I also filmed this from my newly remodeled bathroom as you will see.  I am very excited about it!  And I am confident I did well on my exam too.

Day 62

Short class and then study.  I spent like 3 hours in the anatomy lab tonight to get ready.  Fun times with class mates and dead folks.

Day 61

so my sister told me that in a couple of my posts I seemed like I was on drugs but no just really tired.  that is med school for you.  I will try to be more alert.

Wow time is flying by.  My beard is looking nice for the Powder puff game in a few weeks and then I will most likely keep it for no shave november.   Class was not bad today the MLM we had with a neurosurgeon was really good.  now I need sleep!

A lot of class and it was hard to pay attention today.  Sorry for the random all-overness that is this post is is late and I should be in bed but I will be soon enough.

Day 58

Sooo the awaited day is over!  I took an OMM exam this morning and then by the time I left school I got to hold a human brain in my hands.  Well I held more than one but it was amazing.

Day 57

Well today was not super eventful but there is always tomorrow.  studied for an exam and took an OSCE final for clinical interviewing.

Day 56

More face and skull in lab and we got out the bone saws today and took off part of the jaw and the zygomatic arch in the face!  Our nice cadaver had some sweet gold teeth.  the top of the skull is friday and I am stoked for that.

Day 55

Today was short with only two hours of class due to OMM competencies which were nice and easy.   Studying was hard I seem to have a hard time studying for OMM at times due to the way the test questions are written and administered in lab.  but overall a good day with some fun times.

Day 54

Another day of class today that seemed really long.  However, I was excited when it was over.  We started dissection of the face and neck which was awesome.

Well today was good I had class with a quiz this morning and then a nice nap and studied the rest of the evening and now to bed for some sleep before the exam!

Another day and this time I cut up a foot.  Good day but the next few nights will be long with the test looming over friday morning!

today we had some class that was not that exciting but then in lab while putting up Eric D (our cadaver)  we may have taken his shoulder out of joint not on purpose!  Sorry Eric.

Today was a crazy day in the lab between professors saying funny stuff and people cutting their fingers and having to go to the ER!   good times

Today was good just a few lectures and then off to the lab where we skinned the lower extremity and dissected the hip and booty region.  Then my partner and I visited our sage person before powder puff practice.

So OMM was OK this morning.  but I made time to buy some snuggies on woot.com.  the rest of the day was not bad at all and pretty light studying because we had two lectures today for our next test so I just went over them and relaxed for a few.

Second MMS exam and practical today.  then some nap time and basketball with some young gentlemen from class.

Easy day and a lot of good studying today. After not being effective yesterday made me more vigilant today!  Lab was good I really like it in there.  I may be crazy!

lecture this morning was not great and the quiz was not bad but the presentation of the material needs some help!  good news is the MLM was good to make everyone worry and study the pharm that will be on this exam.

Informatics in the morning is really not that fun to listen to but they take attendance!  Afternoons in the gross lab are always a lot of fun.  today we did a lot of work to deglove the hands and separate the muscles in the forearm.

Lecture was not that exciting this morning but lab was a blast.  I am really enjoying being in the lab and working on the cadavers.

Well it was raining super hard from tropical storm Hermain remnants this morning and my cell phone got ruined but it wasn't a bad day despite that fact.  Ohh and Burt Reynolds has nothing on my new mustache!

A short week but not short on things to do. a bunch of quizzes and tests to be taken.  This week will be busy but it was nice to have labor day off!

Today we had a Doc come in and give us a radiology lecture and then some clinical cases on back surgery.

Well today was easy... All I had to do was show up and take a test and then go home and take a nap.

Today was long!  but not to bad thanks to actual interaction and less class for the second half of the day.  However I seem to have no sleep pattern!  I am sure that is just a sign of things to come.  Sorry for blinking so much but I had a fan in my eyes making them dry.

More class.  For some reason today didn't seem bad even thought it was a lot of class. Maybe because it was a lot of stuff I learned in undergrad?  Either way it was nice and napping for a min after class was much needed.

OK so the highlight of my day was the nap I took after class!  My sleep pattern is terrible.

I had some trouble with the video so I am going to try to upload to youtube from now on and then link to it.  I also am trying a new video recording software out to see if that helps.

Day 1

we hit the ground running from day 1.  I did have a quiz today that was not hard but required you to read  the material.  I had to shoot tonight again cause the first video was only showing as 25 seconds.  I seemed to get worse this go round.  probably cause I am tired. Video is still acting up I will try to fix it but this will have to do for tonight.  Now I am off to bed!
